Hi there! We are the Robbins family – Glenn, Andi, Gavin, and Lexi. In April 2019, we finally summoned the courage to let go of the convenient, familiar, and comfortable. We sold just about everything we owned, bought a sailboat, and moved aboard.  Our “flash to bang” on the decision was four months.  In four short months we went from land lubbers to live-aboard sailors.  Talk about ripping off the bandaid! In doing so, we chose to face the fears that had been holding us back for so long, and pursue a life long on amazing experiences but short on convenience.  We aren’t different than anyone else on this planet – we did not, unfortunately, have any super powers that made us more qualified to upend our lives and guarantee success on the backside of our decision.  We just believed we could, and once we made the decision everything lined up in an extraordinary sequence of events to make Fearless a reality.  There were many moments along the way that made us question our sanity, endurance, patience, and competence.  However, each of those moments made us stronger.  We hope that by visiting our website we can help you face down your own fears, as well.

Glenn is a retired naval officer who grew up sailing with his family on a 36′ monohull home-ported in Padanaram, Massachusetts.  When it came time to transition from the service, he was smart enough to listen to his wife when she pitched the sailing idea.  Convinced he had to follow the same rules in post-military life that guided his military career, he almost got a job…almost.   Instead, he used his GI Bill benefits and went to trade school where he earned American Boat & Yacht Council certification  as a Marine Mechanic and Electrician. He is the skipper, chief engineer, and lead procurement officer for fishing gear.  To him, Fearless is a sport fishing boat with sails.

Gavin is a master LEGO craftsman and a young man who has continued to impress with his understanding of seamanship.  He possesses a natural ability at the helm accompanied by a strong sense of confidence.  Gav earned his open water SCUBA qualification in Bequia and is paving the way for his sister.  He makes friends easily but still enjoys hours of solitary concentration building complex LEGO creations. Gavin is the best of both Glenn and Andi – a talented craftsman and polite, sensitive soul.  Don’t be fooled by that charming smile, though…everything has the potential to be a weapon for Gav…he is 100% ‘Y’ chromosome.

Andi is the heart and soul of Team Fearless.  Prior to buying this boat, she had no offshore sailing experience, but that didn’t dissuade her.  Now, she is the operations officer, chief logistician, and happiness engineer.  Let’s face it, if it weren’t for her Fearless wouldn’t exist, so let’s add brave and persistent to her long list of admirable qualities.  Six years of living in Italy left her with a passion for simplicity, community, adventure, and…above all else…the best olive oil in the world.  She is capable of making even the grumpiest person smile with her warmth and social skills, which makes her the perfect balance for Glenn…because he has none of those skills.

Lexi is our sunshine.  She is the consummate hostess, a hard worker no matter the task, and a talented dinghy captain.  She loves to cook, has perfected gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, and is always looking for ways to challenge herself.  She can crank out pullups, and is happiest when she is swinging through the rigging or climbing palm trees on the beach.  Simply put, Lexi loves to do anything active…until it’s time to get underway.  When the anchor comes up, she usually falls asleep.  Based on this attribute alone, we are convinced she would make a fine naval aviator. Actually, she loves being at the helm, especially at night on passages!
